One of the main things church volunteers do through NeighbourLink is give rides--perhaps to a single mom who needs to get to the food bank, an elderly person to a doctor's appointment or someone else to the grocery store.
Recognizing that loneliness is a big problem in Chatham-Kent and elsewhere,
NeighbourLink also offers friendly visits to those who are shut-in.
Assistance with Small Moves
Two of our supporting churches offer a free family and personal budgeting course called the CAP Money Course. There are three sessions per year at GDAC: fall, winter and spring. Also, a friend of NL offers a free income tax service in Chatham for people who make under $30,000 a year. He is the only person in Southwestern Ontario who does this for people all year round.
