We want all kids to learn about loving their neighbours
The values that lead us to compassion are established at a young age. This is why it's important for children to witness compassion and mercy while they are growing up.
We encourage parents and guardians to help their kids:

Look out for charitable organizations in their community, and learn about what they do

Identify reasons why they want to help others
-
Practice caring for others in routine parts of their lives
Below, we have some suggestions of ways children and families can exercise compassion and grow in understanding through prayer and kids programs available in CK.

PRAYER
Here are some compassionate things families can pray for:

That God would help and comfort people in difficult situations

That people who are hungry and in need would have their needs met, and connect with people who can help them

That God would bless poverty alleviation organizations

That God would keep families and support systems healthy

That more people would volunteer and help those in need

That God would remove barriers keeping people from help

That the government would be wise
-
That we would have eyes to see people in need, wisdom to know how we can help, and hearts that are willing

That God would give people courage, hope and desire to take steps forward
We love all of our neighbours because God loves every person, and every human being is created in His image (with eternal significance), regardless of their choices and beliefs.
Our partner churches help support us with funding and volunteers. Many of them also provide children's programs that teach he values and beliefs that inspire NeighbourLink's compassionate outreach.
